Continuing Medical Education for Physicians

Earn 0.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for the clinical searches you conduct daily. Using your personal or institutional subscription to ClinicalKey, the steps to earning free Internet Point-of-Care CME credits couldn’t be simpler:

1. Create a personal account.

Physicians can create their own accounts by clicking the “Register” link in the top right corner of the ClinicalKey homepage.

2. Log in.

 

3. Search.

Perform a search in ClinicalKey to answer a question relevant to your practice. As you open eligible, peer-reviewed content, your search will be automatically recorded as potential CME.

4. Claim.

From your dashboard, click on “Claim Credit.” Potential or earned credits can be filtered by timeframe and reviewed right from your dashboard.

5. Submit.

Select the query you want to claim, answer a few questions, click submit and print the certificate. You can access your CME transcript at any time – you have two years from the date of accrual to claim.

 

Continuing Education for Nurses

Elsevier* offers Nursing Continuing Education contact hours for ClinicalKey for Nursing’s Clinical Updates. This CE program is an optional addition to your ClinicalKey for Nursing subscription. Follow these steps to access ClinicalKey for Nursing’s Clinical Updates and earn your contact hours:

1. Create a personal account.

Nurses can create their own accounts by clicking the “Register” link in the top right corner of the ClinicalKey for Nursing homepage.

2. Log in.

 

3. Read content.

Read the selected Clinical Update to expand your knowledge of the topic.

4. Go to the test.

After reviewing the content, click “Go to Test” near the top right corner of your screen. A new window will open to the Clinical Update CE login page. Log in with your user name and password; note that self-registration is required for first time users. Select the title of the Clinical Update you reviewed, and click “Take the Test.”

5. Pass the test and submit your evaluation.

Achieve a post-test score of 80% or higher and submit the evaluation survey to earn your hours and obtain your certificate of completion.
